President and CEO, Community First Credit Union
John Hirabayashi serves as president and CEO of Community First Credit Union, one of the largest credit unions in Florida. Community First is headquartered in Jacksonville and has 17 branch locations and $1.3 billion in assets, serving more than 108,000 members. He has led Community First Credit Union since 1996, when it was known as Educational Community Credit Union, which had $200 million in assets and 44,000 members. John serves on the board of The Cypress Group and the board of the Members Development Company (MDC). He is a previous director on the board of the League of Southeastern Credit Unions and chaired the Florida Credit Union League until 2008.
The Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens recently selected John to join the board (term to start October 2014). John currently serves on the JAX Chamber board of directors and the WJCT board of trustees. He formerly served on the JAX Chamber board of governors, as well as the boards of the Alliance for World Class Education, the Florida Community College Foundation, the Clay County Educational Foundation, the Duval County Public Education Foundation and JCCI (Jacksonville Community Council, Inc.).
John earned his M.B.A. from Virginia Polytechnic Institute, holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Colorado (Boulder) and is a chartered financial analyst (CFA).
