Greater Sum Grant Partner Application

The Greater Sum Foundation
Jacksonville, FL
The Greater Sum is accepting applications from US-based nonprofits for their 2020 Nonprofit Cohort. Selected organizations will receive grants AND assistance from skills-based volunteers. Learn more at https://thegreatersum.org/2020-grant-app

The Greater Sum Foundation supports innovation in the nonprofit
sector by providing funding, subject matter expertise, networking,
and professional development opportunities as part of a year-long cohort experience. We work with young nonprofits created to solve problems in new ways or established nonprofits entering areas of work to do something innovative.

Wondering whether to apply? We’ve thrown out several iterations of a “our perfect partner” definition as that definition has changed and expanded. Instead, we’ll be open about the metrics we use to assess applications.

Is the project truly innovative?

Is progress measurable?

Could this innovation scale?

In our pitch round, we dive deeper into the challenges that finalist organizations are facing this year to assess whether the resources we provide would be helpful. If you’re NOT looking for subject matter expertise, networking opportunities, or professional development, the Greater Sum cohort experience is not going to be a good fit.

Our first round application is a straightforward Google Form. Here’s a PDF version you can use to prepare — click the “apply” button to access the live form. The application should not take you more than a few hours. Finalists will participate in a virtual pitch, which is a more significant time commitment. You're welcome to view our Pitch Deck Primer video to learn more about the pitch process.
