What is Polar Plunge?
Polar Plunge is an annual fundraising drive for those brrrr-ave enough to take the challenge! Participants &8210 or “plungers” &8210 raise funds to get wild and plunge into chilly water at five different locations across Florida.

It’s the coolest event in FL &8210 literally &8210 and it’s all for an amazing cause! All proceeds help Special Olympics Florida provide year-round training and services for 46,000 athletes with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Fundraise, create a costume, laugh, cheer, and PLUNGE with a community that shares your passion to help individuals with intellectual disabilities thrive and excel.

On December 15th, Special Olympics Florida will be hosted at Adventure Landing’s Shipwreck Island Water Park. You may wonder a Polar Plunge in the middle of winter at a waterpark? That’s right, Shipwreck Island will open Typhoon Lagoon, a half million gallon wave pool for this special event’s participants and guests. But there’s more…Shipwreck Island turns into a Winter Wonderland that includes: a real ice-skating rink, 100-foot Alpine Racer, ice slide and reindeer games offering a variety of activities and treats.
