Registered nurse manager provides care for our diverse patient population. Helps manage a staff of volunteer nurses. This individual works closely with the Medical Director, Clinical Director, and COO to ensure the smooth operations of the practice. Maintains confidentiality in matters regarding the practice, its patients, and volunteers. Conveys a positive image of the practice to the staff, volunteers, and patients. Has an understanding of working in a volunteer office environment. Contributes to relationship building with patients, families, physicians, volunteers, and others to promote Volunteers in Medicine Jacksonville.
Essential duties and responsibilities
Leadership 1. Serves as role model for patient customer service and mentors volunteer staff in the process. 2. Serves as a resource to the Medical Director, Clinical Director, COO, staff, and volunteers. 3. Works with the Director of Volunteers for the recruitment, onboarding, orientation, and evaluation of all licensed nurses. 4. Works in collaboration with the Medical Director, Clinical Director, and COO on the formulation and execution of best practices in the clinic. 5. Ensures our customers’ rights to privacy and modesty by maintaining a secure and trusted environment, allowing for cultural diversity and dignity in the provision of care. 6. Able to work with diverse populations: patients, volunteers, physicians. Nursing Skills 1. Responsible for the day-to-day nursing duties. 2. Participates in the management of all volunteers. 3. Works with the Director of Volunteers to ensure the clinic is properly staffed daily for medical provider shifts. 4. Is knowledgeable of all provider schedules and manages daily the patient schedule. 5. Coordinates contacting the patients when schedule changes occur. 6. Serves as the formal contact person for patient complaints. 7. Responsible for the coordination of “patient assistance” prescription drug programs. 8. Responsible for oversight of all WeCare referrals. 9. Responsible for sending and receiving patient medical records, patient authorizations, and addressing record subpoenas in a timely manner. 10. Responsible for monitoring, recording and reporting symptoms or changes in patient’s conditions. 11. Helps to maintain accurate patient charts, administering medication and treatment to patients and observing reactions or side effects. 12. Ensure labs and diagnostic imaging are appropriately attached to the patient’s record. 13. Perform diagnostic tests, supervise less skilled licensed nurses, help prepare patients for examination and treatment. 14. Help prepare the front office environment daily to ensure that the volunteers have all of the information they need (provider schedules, charts, etc.). Administrative 1. Orders medical supplies. 2. Assists pharmacist when needed so a stocked formulary is maintained. 3. Works in conjunction with Medical Director, Clinical Director, and COO to develop administrative policies and procedures for the clinic. 4. Assists the Grant Manager in the preparation of reports on key performance metrics related to patients. 5. Understands and monitors the use of the electronic medical records system “eClinicalWorks” 6. Assists volunteers in the use of eClinicalWorks. 7. Participates as part of the clinical team to include the CEO, COO, Medical Director, and Clinical Director. 8. Attends and participates in scheduled administrative and clinical meetings 9. Complies with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including compliance and HIPAA First Aid and state licenses.
Qualifications
Education Must have graduated from an accredited nursing program and maintain an active Florida Nursing license. Experience Minimum of three to five years managing a nursing staff. Knowledge/Skills Demonstrates proficient knowledge and skills in the following areas: HIPAA; practice management software applications; electronic medical records; communications; general computer applications. Candidate must possess the ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment. Candidate must establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, volunteer staff, and general public.
Salary/Salary Range
$60,000-$70,000
