BASCA, Inc. – Board Member

BASCA’s mission is to improve the quality of life for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities in Northeast Florida.

Once an individual with IDD ages out of High School (age 22), their caregivers often have many questions about their loved one’s transition to adulthood. Family members struggle to find meaningful programs for their adult children to attend during the day while they work. They seek a safe, enriching environment for their loved ones where they can socialize, acquire new skills, be involved in the community, and be empowered and encouraged to strive for independence.

We are a local nonprofit that provides essential services for adults with intellectual disabilities. We operate four residential group LIFE (living in a family environment) homes, adult day programs focused on life skills development and enrichment, in-home support services, transportation, and many community inclusion activities. We provide these necessary programs and services in our community to individuals with Intellectual and Development Disabilities (IDD) and their families.
