The Healing Hearts Project is a 501c3 nonprofit organization, located in Jacksonville, Florida, whose mission is to provide ongoing support and services to families and patients as they face the challenges of congenital heart disease. Congenital heart defects (CHDs) are one of the most common types of birth defects. CHDs affect nearly 1% of―or about 40,000―births per year in the United States. 1 in 4 babies with a CHD have a critical CHD. Infants with critical CHDs generally need medical interventions in their first year of life. As medical care and treatments have improved, babies and children with congenital heart defects (CHDs) are living longer and healthier lives. Most are now living into adulthood. Ongoing medical care as well as the myriad support services offered by THHP can help adults, parents and children affected by a CHD thrive and lead healthy, independent lives.
Our vision and advocacy work strives to increase CHD awareness locally and regionally as the avenue to improve and extend the lives of the millions born with heart defects. Our vision supports the delivery of the organization’s mission.
We are actively seeking diverse individuals from the following career fields and/or competencies:
• Grant Writers
• Marketing/Public Relations
• Mental Health
Please contact Dr. Robin Rose, Board Chair, to discuss your interest in becoming a Board Member with an organization that is providing support, programming, and hope to patients, adults and families coping with the effects of congenital heart defects.
