The Facilities and Maintenance Director will serve the Police Athletic League of Jacksonville, Inc. (JaxPAL) by providing efforts to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of facilities and maintenance through improvements to each area of responsibility–Vendor Management/Relations, Facilities Maintenance, and IT Systems–The Facilities and Maintenance Director will interact with the Executive Director, the Board of Directors, donors, vendors, employees and other stakeholders.

Essential duties and responsibilities

Vendor/Contract Management • Responsible for the management of vendors, contracts, leases and professional service providers pertaining to technology, insurance, and other services • Responsible for serving as custodian for all processes involving vendors • Collaborating with Department Directors to ensure vendor partners are effectively managed and contracts are fully leveraged • Reviewing industry best practices and selecting/implementing those that would best serve the organization • Ensuring vendor compliance to agreement terms and conditions, policies, standards, etc. • Managing the Requests for Proposal process (RFP) • Maintaining vendor information and contact list • Planning and conducting formal quarterly performance reviews with each account • Driving ongoing process improvement to deliver increased operational efficiency in all business partner processes • Work closely with JSO Recreational Leader to ensure all Contracts/Agreements (to include rental agreements, MOUs, etc.) are accurate and follow the City and JaxPAL agreements to effectively manage our risk • Ensure any and all contracts are periodically reviewed and have oversight to ensure compliance. Facilities Maintenance • Responsible for the supervision of the overall management, maintenance, safety and security of JaxPAL facilities and grounds • Responsible for the oversight of general maintenance and repairs at all JaxPAL facilities including but not limited to: • Maintaining facility equipment by managing preventive maintenance schedules focused on restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts; • Conducting regular inspections of PAL facilities. • Providing direct supervision of the Maintenance position • Research, identify, and apply for, in partnership with Development Director, grant funding for facilities maintenance and upgrades. IT Systems • Responsible for working with designated vendors for the management of IT systems and application solutions to reach desired business outcomes • Implements service strategies to support business and user needs • Responsible for developing, distributing, supporting, and integrating best practices for technology standards across the organization Additional Functions: • Other duties as assigned by Executive Director


• Demonstrated ability to organize, direct and coordinate vendor/contract management, facilities management, IT Systems, etc. • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written • Ability to manage multiple tasks and to develop solutions to problems with limited supervision • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, subordinates, board members, community groups and other related agencies • Must have a valid Florida Driver’s license and safe driving record • Must pass a drug screen and a Level II Criminal Background Check • Must possess a passion for the mission of JaxPAL and the children it serves

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university • A minimum of five-year work experience in a non-profit agency operations management and supervision, or an equivalent combination of experience and education
