The COVID-19 Non Congregate Shelter program is a multi-agency effort to provide shelter for homeless individuals in response to the COVID-19 public health emergency.
The Isolation Facility Housing Specialist will build and manage a landlord network to support the rapid re-housing needs of the Non-Congregate shelter residents placed in hotels in response to COVID-19 isolation and social distancing precautionary measures. The position is responsible for identifying, securing, and sharing available housing stock with the Isolation Facility Rapid Rehousing Case Managers as a potential permanent housing solution for clients exiting the hotel stay.
Essential duties and responsibilities
• Proactively seek out new housing opportunities • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with landlords and property managers (private, commercial, and non-profit) through regular contact and positive engagement. • Establish standards for affordable safe housing and create a vetting process for landlords and property management companies. • Create and maintain a Housing Directory of available housing units and housing providers. • Provide consistent updates on housing availability to the Isolation Facility Rapid Rehousing Case Managers. • Research, develop, and maintain knowledge of landlord/tenant laws. • Investigate tenant/landlord complaints and facilitate conflict resolution between parties involved. • Act as liaison between landlord, client, and the Isolation Facility Rapid Rehousing Case Managers, as needed. • Demonstrates a commitment to Housing First and to serve all people with respect and compassion.

Education and Experience
• Real estate or property management experience preferred • Past experience with homelessness preferred
