Provide supervision to the Prevention Specialists who assess the needs and provide the necessary prevention services to at risk families of child abuse or neglect who have been referred for intervention by various community agencies and the Department of Children and Families. The primary goal is to provide oversight and supervision of cases in order to ensure compliance in both service delivery and outcomes.
Education and Experience
Master’s Degree in Social Work or Related Field and two (2) Years Experience in Human Services or Child Welfare Programs. Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and Four (4) Years Experience May Be Substituted. Doctorate in Social Work or Related May Be Substituted for One Year Required Experience.
Essential Job Functions
Supervise daily activities of Senior Prevention Specialists and Prevention Specialists.
Evaluate staff performance, including annual performance evaluations and monthly performance meetings with staff.
Interact with staff frequently to mentor and respond to urgent issues.
Participate in the selection and hiring of staff.
Ensure all files are reviewed every 30 day period.
Staff cases when case opens/every 90 days/at closure/and at critical points of the case.
Ensure contractual goals are met.
Assign cases when referrals come in.
Monitor reports in COBRIS system daily.
Maintain statistics for the prevention program.
Network and build relationships with referral sources such as: full service schools, JSO Officers, DCF and other community agencies.
Network with providers.
Provide back-up case management for staff members in their absence.
Attend all required meetings at FSSNF/DCF.
Attend all required trainings.
Complete other duties as assigned.
