Generation W Inc, is a nonprofit service organization focused on educating, inspiring, and connecting women and girls. In that work, it is dedicated to building community, bringing people together, and advancing and enhancing their lives. Generation W has developed and executes several programs, Generation W, Generation WOW and Generation WORKS and WOWsdom!
Generation WOW is a program specifically devoted to the support and growth of teen girls. By exposing girls to the positive and the possible, Generation WOW creates opportunities that help build the future leaders of the world by connecting them to the leaders of today. Focused on self-confidence, independence, healthy living, leadership, and mentorship, the goal of Generation WOW is to provide a trusted and inspiring experience that will forge relationships, inspire dreams, and deliver results that enhance lives.
The Generation WOW Program Manager is responsible for delivering the possibilities and the positivity for teen girls in the difference making goals of Generation WOW. This person will bring an energetic, can do attitude and commitment to excellence. Working directly with the Senior Program Manager, the individual will create and execute impactful programs by providing programmatic and operational support to Generation WOW. The Program Manager will be on point to further, collaborate with the Generation W staff to ensure the overall success and integration of Generation WOW initiatives within the broader organizational strategy. Key responsibilities will include: establishing trusting, consistent relationship with the WOW girl community, the tracking and execution of program outcomes/metrics, policies and procedures, WOWsdom! content review and development, mentor and volunteer onboarding, event planning and execution, support partnership cultivation and be able to work independently, as well as, in a team environment.
The Manager’s core expertise is an understanding of all of these constituents in the service of educating, inspiring and connecting these girls lives for a stronger more self-confident tomorrow. Constituents include: club facilitators, school leadership, mentors, families, district leadership, partners and girls. The focus is on creating a pathway to success both personally and professionally.
Essential duties and responsibilities
• Develop trusting, consistent relationship with girls in the Generation WOW community • Research, development, and reporting for Generation WOW/WOWsdom content and curriculum • WOW Club training, implementation, support and monitoring • Project and event management including annual event, quarterly/special events, committee and volunteer meetings • Assist in the development, maintenance, and compliance with policies and procedures • Assist with development of overall communication and engagement strategies including website, social media, newsletter and other communication channels • Assist in the development and maintenance of reporting requirements including but not limited to Funders’ reports, committee reports, presentations, event materials • Assist in the cultivation and management of partnerships including prospective partners, committee members, mentors, volunteers, schools and other external relationships • Collaborate with Generation W on organizational initiatives to advance the broader mission and brand • Represent the organization at external events • Other duties as indicated
• Ability to articulate current trends/issues relevant to high school aged girls • Ability to think and act independently with good judgment and minimal supervision as well as the ability to work well in a team environment • Ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and adapt easily to handle emergent requests • Superior inter-personal skills with experience and comfort in working with and relating to individuals of diverse views and backgrounds • Understanding of social media platforms currently used by teenagers (Twitter, Instagram, TikTok) • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Oral communication skills include ability to communicate clearly, diplomatically and persuasively, and to facilitate meetings. Writing skills must include ability to prepare written communications, expositive and/or persuasive memos, and other written materials of the highest professional quality. • Strong organization skills and attention to detail in all work products • Intellectual curiosity and desire to engage in ongoing, lifelong learning • Must demonstrate integrity and excellent professional judgment • Strong computer skills including MS Office Suite
Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree (preferred) from an accredited university and significant experience in community engagement and development work • 1-5 years experience as a youth club sponsor/facilitator, team coach, mentor or leading comparable youth programming • A valid State of Florida Driver’s license and access to a motor vehicle. Local and some long-distance travel required.
