The Accounting Associate is responsible for performing a full range of traditional accounting duties as well as grant accounting tasks. This position will be responsible for record keeping and accounting related to various federal, state, and private grant funds. The Accounting Associate has primary responsibility for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable entry.

Essential duties and responsibilities
• Abandoned Property reporting • Accounts Payable entry and reconciliations • Process and mail all checks to vendors • Enter Credit Card transactions into the accounting system • Prepare monthly journal entries • Assist in month-end close process and financial reporting • Assist with payroll • Prepare analyses and schedules assigned for the annual financial audit • Enter daily payments received • Fixed Asset tracking • Updating documentation of procedures related to duties assigned • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word) • Strong work ethic, flexibility and ability to multi-task as needed • Must be detail oriented and possess analytical ability • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and projects, mobilize efforts toward completion, and deliver with a high degree of quality on a consistent basis • Demonstrate the ability to think critically and evaluate procedures and make recommendations that are appropriate for improving productivity • Ability to work collaboratively with staff • Periods of walking, standing, or sitting in an office or field environment for service provision • Limited physical effort required; however, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds • Ability to operate a motor vehicle
Education and Experience
• Experience in Accounting with at least 3 years in similar duties • Must be eligible to work within the U.S. and provide supporting documentation • Must pass a Level II background check • Must pass a federal-level drug screen; possession of a medical marijuana card is currently not acceptable under federal law • Must have a clean 3-year driving history • Must have a valid driver’s license, a registered vehicle without known issues or faults to complete essential job functions, and the required vehicle insurance within 90 days of onboarding
Salary/Salary Range
$45,000 - $55,000
