Essential duties and responsibilities
The Counselor will emphasize recovery in their work with individuals with disabilities, their families, and support staff to promote optimum mental health. • The Counselor will be involved in the direct counseling or small group counseling of people we serve as related to acute or chronic mental health issues. • The Counselor will be involved with direct counseling of family members on an as-needed basis. • The Counselor will administer standardized tools to measure mental health pre and post therapy. These tools will be administered throughout the counseling period. • The Counselor will work with the Clinical Coordinator to expand the mental health program, to serve a larger number of individuals. • The Counselor will work with the Clinical Coordinator to report outcomes of this program to other stakeholders which may include public speaking, attending conferences, and development of journal articles for publication. • The Counselor may be expected to oversee and mentor interns during the program cycle if assigned. • The Counselor will report directly to the Clinical Coordinator. The Counselor will be involved in direct training of support staff regarding acute and chronic mental health issues they may face with the individuals they serve. • The Counselor will also provide direct counseling to staff, as needed, to help understand the stress and mental health concerns related to their involvement with the individual with a disability and their family members.

Education and Experience
Master's degree in Social Services Field, Licensed Clinical Intern Ideal Candidate will have a Medicare/Medicaid Provider number.
