Responsible for managing all Finance Department needs, the Accounting Manager will plan and direct the activities of the department and report directly to the Chief Financial Officer. This is a full-time, salary, exempt position with an annual salary range of $55,000 – $65,000.

Essential duties and responsibilities

Position Responsibilities: • Manages the accounting staff who are responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, bank transactions, and payroll. • Recruits and hires accounting and financial staff and conducts performance evaluations. • Coordinates training programs for new staff and identifies training needs for current staff. • Establishes internal controls, policies, and procedures for all accounting processes. • Assists with the preparation of business activity reports, financial forecasts, and annual budgets. • Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards. • Audits accounts to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations; coordinates with outside auditors and provides needed information for the annual external audit. • Presents recommendations to management on short- and long-term financial objectives and policies. • Provides financial analysis on accounts, grants, and budget variances. • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and grant requirements. • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Previous experience as an Accounting Manager or in other related fields. • Excellent management and supervisory skills. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Excellent organizational and time management skills. • Proficient with cloud-based accounting software. • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software. • Ability to prioritize and multitask as a motivated self-starter. • Strong attention to detail. • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team. • Sensitivity to the needs of persons with disabilities. • Ability and willingness to work cooperatively with others. • A high degree of discretion in dealing with confidential information. • Physical Requirements o Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Education and Experience

Minimum Position Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration required. • Five years or more of related experience. • Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred. • Successfully pass Level 2 background check and drug screening.

Salary/Salary Range

$55,000 - $65,000 annual salary range
