Description
Exchange Parent Aides provide in-home, parent education and case management to families referred to the Parent Aide program, a nationally accredited program of the National Exchange Club. The purpose of the program is to provide young parents with the information and skills necessary to provide a safe, stable and healthy environment for their children to thrive. Referrals come from a variety of community organizations and all services are provided over a 6-12 month period across Duval, Clay, Baker and Nassau counties.
Essential duties and responsibilities
To visit families weekly over a period of 6-12 months, and provide an evidence-based parenting program designed to meet the unique needs of each family enrolled. The program is designed for parents referred by DCF and a wide variety of community organizations, as well as self-referrals from young parents seeking new and effective methods for raising healthy, happy children. The Parent Aide provides services to approximately 12-14 families.
Qualifications
Minimum educational requirement of bachelor's degree in Social Work or other social services related field; able to work independently while maintaining accurate and timely case notes; referrals to other communities programs and resources as the needs of each family are identified; able to work with parents from all walks of life and all income levels throughout a 4-county area; patience, kindness and a positive attitude essential; bi-lingual candidates encouraged to apply; must have Driver's License and dependable transportation, with mileage reimbursed on a monthly basis; must provide proof of current COVID vaccination(s).
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field; minimum of one year of professional experience working in direct services, recent graduates will be considered. Preference given to candidates who have worked in and/or are very familiar with the community resources available across Duval and nearby counties which provide services and assistance to parents and children within the communities.
Salary/Salary Range
$39,500 - $46,000
