The Exchange Club Family Center, located in Jacksonville, Florida, is seeking a new Executive Director. The current Director will be retiring at the end of July 2024 after serving over eleven (11) yThe Exchange Club Family Center (ECFC) opened in November 1991 as a 501(c)3 non-profit agency.
Created by the Exchange Clubs in Jacksonville, it is part of a national network of sixty-five providers operating in twenty-two states, as part of the National Exchange Club’s major project, the prevention of child abuse. A 100-year-old service club, Exchange Club members adopted child abuse prevention as their primary philanthropic focus in 1979, and through the efforts of thousands of members since that time, has successfully developed and offered its signature program, Exchange Parent Aide, to thousands of families in America. The ECFC offers Exchange Parent Aide, an in-home parent education program which provides services to any family with at least one child under the age of eighteen. All services are provided in the family home over a period of 6 – 12 months, with weekly 60–90 minute visits during the first three months and bi-weekly visits for an additional 3 – 9 months, as determined by the needs of each family. Professionally trained staff, using evidence-based, trauma-informed curriculum and techniques, work with each parent to best serve the needs specific to their family. All services are voluntary, and the Florida Dept. of Children and Families (DCF) has determined that over 99% of Parent Aide graduates have no confirmed reports of abuse or neglect in the 12 months following graduation; an excellent outcome that holds true year after year. Essential duties and responsibilities
Oversee all fundraising activities, budget preparation and management. The ED represents the agency on a wide array of social services networks and committees and is primarily responsible for navigating child welfare funding opportunities within the community-based care (CBC) system of care. Familiarity with CBC providers and DCF is a plus for this position, as well as a strong understanding of community providers in the counties served by Parent Aide. Applicants should be familiar with nonprofit management, budget management, working with a volunteer Board of Directors, grant writing, and special events. Ideally, applicants will have experience working with the state legislature and a strong understanding of the annual funding process.
Qualifications
The Board would prefer someone with experience in nonprofit management and a knowledge of NE Florida social services network of providers. A passion for prevention and a commitment for keeping families healthy, strong and together if essential for this position.
Education and Experience
The Board would like to hire a new Director with a minimum bachelor’s degree in social work or related field; a master’s degree is preferred. Ten (10) years of experience is required in the child welfare system and the social work field or complementary areas of experience such as healthcare, social work, childcare, mental health or other related fields. A minimum of three (3) years of management of a government or non-profit organization is needed.
Salary/Salary Range
$80,000 - 90,000
