Position Overview
In collaboration with the First Coast Cultural Center (FCCC) Management Team, the Bookkeeping position is responsible for ensuring the consistent achievement of the Center’s mission. She or He provides professional administrative, support to the President/CEO. She or he operates in an organized, efficient, and professional manner. She or he has the necessary leadership skills to work effectively with the Board of Directors, staff, donors, and volunteers to accomplish the strategic goals of the Cultural Center.

This position is remote. The position is part-time/non-exempt, 12-16 hours per week, and does not have direct reports. He or she reports to the President/CEO.

Essential duties and responsibilities

Key Responsibilities – BOD • Provides monthly financials to the Finance Committee Chair, the Board of Directors, and staff. • Attends the monthly Finance Committee meeting approx. for 1 hour. • Pulls reports for grants or other for the CEO as needed. Admin. • Record transaction data in QuickBooks Online by Class. • Reconcile accounts monthly and prepare financial reports and present to the Finance Committee. • Process payroll and pay contractors twice per month. • Record sales data from third party app into QuickBooks. • Report and submit Sales Tax monthly. • Picks up mail and/or checks to be deposited from the Cultural Center on a weekly basis. • Accounts payable – process and pay, twice per month. • Reviews employee manual annually for any PTO or Holiday updates. • Reviews and keeps an organized list of renewal of contracts with Government or other. • Participate in annual audit and makes sure we meet deadline.


Skills • Solid organizational management including detailed calendar management. • Knowledge in Microsoft 365, Outlook, Excel, and QuickBooks Online. • Excellent customer and donor relation skills and the ability to build strong meaningful relationships with artists, volunteers, management, staff, donors, trustees, and other stakeholders. • Exhibits professionalism, business judgment, tact and diplomacy and projects a positive attitude. • Good listening and creative problem-solving skills and an ability to think critically and strategically and willingness to reflect and improve. • Ability to self-start, work independently and achieve high standards to meet multiple deadlines. • Excellent writing, speaking, editing, proofreading and math skills with great attention to detail. • Excellent interpersonal skills and works effectively with staff in a team-oriented environment while exhibiting strong leadership qualities.

Education and Experience

Experience • Bachelor's degree or 5+ years' experience in bookkeeping. • Nonprofit or fundraising-oriented background preferred.
