ROLE: The role of the Girls Inc. Facilitator is to implement high-quality Girls Inc. programming to girls using an array of best-practice programs identified by the national organization. The Program Facilitator is an ambassador of the organization and a role model for all girls and staff, and at all times maintains a positive and respectful classroom that supports the values of the organization. She may also be asked to make presentations to parents, the Board of Directors, funders/donors, and school administrators to educate them about the importance of our organizational mission, the content and outcomes of our programs, and about the value of single-gender education in general.

BACKGROUND & SCREENING: All candidates will be required to complete and pass background checks including fingerprinting, drug screening and school district clearance prior to working.

Essential duties and responsibilities

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES · Plan and implement programming for girls according to Girls Inc. standards · Facilitate and execute lessons daily · Utilize planning time to get the classroom organized and prepared · Check daily attendance · Conduct assessments to monitor students’ progress · Provide support to certified teacher during academic block · Coordinate and enhance existing research-based curricula used by Girls Inc. to best meet the needs of the program participants · Implement effective classroom management and developmentally appropriate behavior strategies · Promote a healthy and safe social, emotional, mental, and physical learning environment for girls at all times · Develop good working relationships with parents, families, caregivers, and all school staff · Support Site Leader with meal service and snack distribution · Collaborate with the Site Manager and Elementary Program Manager to meet other objectives as needed · Participate in site staff meetings, mandatory quarterly trainings, and other training as required · Continually seek opportunities for professional growth including monthly coaching sessions with Site Lead as the avenue for continuous self-improvement · Support the goals and objectives of the organization WORK SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm includes paid planning time with programming starting at 2:45 pm

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS ·High School Diploma/GED with some work experience in child care or afterschool programming or Pursuing a higher education degree/ Bachelor’s in Education, Social Work, Child Development, Early Childhood Development or closely related field or 2-3 years’ experience working in the area of youth development, afterschool programming, education, or related field · Must be able to effectively facilitate a 45-minute lesson on one of the following topics; Health Nutrition and Physical Activity, Life Skills Development, or Academic Enrichment (S.T.E.A.M. or Literacy). · Access to reliable transportation · Proficient computer, internet & Microsoft Office skills · Outstanding interpersonal/communication skills · High-energy, caring, self-starter, innovative · Demonstrated commitment to girl development and opportunities · Efficient time management and prioritization skills PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS -Bachelors in Education, Social Work, Child Development, Early Childhood Development, Human Services or closely related field 40 hours of DCF child care training. -First Aid/CPR Certified -Must clear all background screenings and education verification -High level of competency in cultural diversity, Trauma Informed Care and Youth Mental Health First Aid. (Please provide certificates, if applicable) -Possess a valid driver’s license and have a good driving record with access to a fully insured automobile.
