THERAPIST – FULL SERVICE SCHOOLS
COVID-19 VACCINATION REQUIRED
Provides mental health counseling services to individuals, children, couples and families and facilitates groups within the AFRC feeder pattern.
Masters degree in Social Work , Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy or related field from an accredited college or university.
2 years experience counseling children and families.
Knowledge and skills in: Needs of, identification of abused and neglected children and adults; child development, and individual and family functioning; working with hard to reach or resistant individuals and families; collaborating with other disciplines and services; skills in group dynamics and leading group discussions. As appropriate to assigned feeder pattern, knowledge and skills in: working with military families, gang prevention/bullying, substance abuse and parenting.
Training in Child-Parent Psychotherapy and Trauma-Informed Care preferred.
Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration:
Licensed or License Eligible in the State of Florida – Registered Intern, LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT.
Primary Job Functions:
Provide counseling services to individuals, children, couples, families.
Conduct workshops and provide training to parents, teachers, and children.
Provide professional case consultation to professionals involved in client’s case.
Participate in weekly clinical supervision and frequent chart reviews.
Maintain an electronic calendar of scheduled appointments
Maintain a caseload of 30-35 clients that include both students and parents.
Help provide and present a therapeutic topic for families at school Family Night events
Act as in-field point-of-contact for staff, supervisors and agency partners.
Refer clients to appropriate community resources and organizations.
Complete reports and maintain client files in accordance with Medicaid standards and contract compliance.
Facilitate groups and counseling within the community, including school based.
Attend weekly staff meeting and one-on-one supervision weekly.
Attend staff meetings once a month with on site Coordinator and AFRC team.
Complete other duties as assigned.
Periodic Job Functions:
Attend professional training.
Provide testimony or documentation for court hearings regarding clinical observations (as requested)
Complete trainings as required by agency
