Micah’s Place is looking for the right candidates to staff our growing organization. We are seeking individuals with compassion, strong interpersonal skills, empathy, self-motivation, and willingness to work as a team in our 24-hour emergency shelter. We are currently looking for a day shift advocate (Thursday – Saturday from 7am-7:30pm) 37.5 hour work week. Requirement of one staff meeting per month possibly outside of these hours.
Essential duties and responsibilities
Work closely with survivors of domestic violence, providing in-depth case management Provide crisis management via 24-hour hotline and in 24-hour emergency shelter Maintain a clean and orderly work space Coordinate community referrals with resources
Experience working with individuals in a crisis setting Familiarity with local resources and agencies Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent computer skills to include Microsoft Office and database entry
Education and Experience
Minimum of high school diploma or GED equivalent We provide in-depth training to ensure our team is prepared to work with our survivors and ongoing outside training to continually enhance professional growth.
