Description

The Clinic Physician is a position in the Mission House Clinic program at Mission House. The Mission House Clinic provides completely free primary care clinic services to uninsured and underserved residents of Duval County, both housed and unhoused. The Clinic Physician is a licensed medical provider who provides direct patient care to patients enrolled in the Mission House Clinic. This position is also responsible for the patient care experience within the Clinic. The process of care includes, but is not limited to, comprehensive evaluations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescription distribution of pharmacologic agents and treatment, non-pharmacological therapies, and counseling patients. The Clinic Physician is also responsible for managing the Medication Room, as well as patient care and information in the electronic medical record system to assist with generating service and program reports, while maintaining complete and accurate client records supportive of the mission and vision of Mission House, Inc.
The Clinic Physician is aware of emotional and practical needs of clients and staff members in all interactions, offering positive and constructive feedback regarding quality of work and effort of clients and coworkers. The employee adjusts priorities and schedules to meet specific client, program and agency needs. All universal precautions and infection control techniques are followed, and employee reports and/or corrects any safety, cleanliness and comfort issues of clients, staff or volunteers. The employee understands and demonstrates their own role in facility safety plans and procedures for emergencies.

Essential duties and responsibilities

• See patients during all clinic patient visit hours, or as needed, as provider on staff • Triage needs of patients experiencing homelessness • Plan and oversee all patient care • Utilize Athena EMR for all patient care and information management • Track all referrals and records requests • Navigate partner services, such as WeCareJax, and other safety net healthcare organizations for patient continuity of care • Provide continuity of care between patient and volunteer physicians • Manage Prescription Assistance Program (PAP) process • Assist in generation of service and program reports • Train physician volunteers • Prepare Clinic for patients and volunteers with assistance of Clinic team • Utilize and submit appropriate forms and documentation to report on all activities • Collaborate across Mission House programs, as needed, to ensure mission is achieved • Maintain confidentiality of all staff, clients, patients, volunteers, donors, and their information • Participate in conferences, workshops, special projects, and staff meetings, as assigned • Represent Mission House professionally, and assist during Mission House events, as directed • Adhere to uniform or business casual dress code • Perform all other duties, as assigned, to meet organizational goals

Qualifications

• Excellent knowledge of standards (e.g. ISO) and regulations for the clinical field • Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks with attention to detail • Ability to build consensus and resolve conflict; manage and de-escalate crisis situations; exhibits willingness and ability to have respectful difficult conversations • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with varied stakeholders, including staff and volunteers • Ability to listen and accept feedback constructively • Exhibit and uphold ethical standards • Exceptional communication ability, both written and oral • General knowledge of social services practices, ethics, and boundaries • Proficient in computer use, and Microsoft Office suite • Possess valid identification • Possess acceptable annual Motor Vehicle Record check • Adhere to required insurance coverage levels (Bodily Injury & Property Damage Liability: $100,000 each person; $100,000 each accident), if driving a personal vehicle for work-related purposes • Pass a Level II background check • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times • Must be able to navigate various departments of the organization’s physical premises

Education and Experience

• Medical license required (e.g. ARNP, PA, MD, DO); will be used for Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation permit of Clinic • Experience in a non-profit clinic setting preferred • Experience providing clinical supervision preferred • Electronic medical record experience

Salary/Salary Range

$42.91 Hourly
