Hours: Monday – Friday, 9 am – 5 pm; however, expected to work outside of regularly scheduled hours, especially during campaigns, events and fundraisers
Pay: $45,000+ annually depending on experience.

The Mission House’s Development and Event Coordinator is a full-time, salaried, exempt position responsible for various development functions and activities. This position collaborates with the agency’s Fundraising Committee to provide strategic opportunities for increased fundraising. Prior experience in seeking out and cultivating relationships that lead to increased agency funding is imperative to the success of this role. In addition, the position requires previous success meeting agency fundraising goals, through diverse funding streams. Position requires prior experience securing individual major gifts (of at least $500) and donations/sponsorships via events, grants and/donor appeals or case statements. This role requires event planning, design and implementation throughout the various phases of event planning. This role is responsible for co-leading two (2) large scale fundraisers and various smaller events and a Donor and Volunteer Appreciation Event, throughout the year.

The Development and Event Coordinator is also responsible for co-leading the implementation of donor recognition and stewardship activities, within budget parameters. This position also requires community engagement and interaction with donors and professionals. In response, the Coordinator will provide friendly, donor-centered customer service and represent the agency and our mission in a professional and positive manner. 

This position reports to the Director of Development.

Essential duties and responsibilities

Fundraiser and Event Planning and Management Activities (40%): o Plans and executes the Donor Dinner and Grazie Gala, as well as other events as assigned (i.e. Pickleball Tournament). o Attends various fundraising events throughout community/speaks on behalf of agency. o Inquires through community connections the potential for fundraising opportunities. o Identifies and writes at least two (2) sponsorship appeals per year o Assists in process related to direct mailings and appeals, as assigned. o Assists the Director of Development with grant applications and management o Maintains accurate information on individual donors and funding entities, related to gifts, acknowledgments, and other donor management activities. o In regards to grants management, the role is responsible for monthly completing the Feeding Northeast Florida Report and other assigned reports as needed. o Responsible for creating donor reports and entries within donor software, as assigned. Manage social media and engagement outreach (20%) o Regularly updates and posts on company’s social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.) and manages responses to comments or concerns, as needed. o Explore, design and implement the development of a social media marketing campaigns, though coordination with marketing team or vendor (s). o Interacts with customers and other stakeholders via the company’s social media accounts o Explores the development of a company’s digital marketing plan and social media strategy. o Explore and develop key performance indicators (KPIs) for social media campaigns, such as targets for a certain number of shares or likes and measuring a campaign’s performance against the KPIs. Volunteer Recruitment and coordination (10%) o Works with other staff to recruit new volunteers to the agency. o Serves as a point of contact for new and current volunteers who wish to learn more about Mission House. o Collaborates in conjunction with Intake Coordinator and Admin. Coordinator for volunteer related activities. Assists the Development Director in formulation of grant requests/sponsorships (20%) o Researches and identifies grant application leads for the Development Director (DD) o Assists in writing grants, case statements, or others as assigned. o Proof reads and assists in completing the final drafts of grant applications and other written materials. o Identify at least 1 to 2 grants (program support) per year from research to submission of grant application materials. Assists Executive Director with various duties (10%) o Assists Executive Director with various duties as assigned, such as Board of Director’s meeting preparation (collation of packets). o Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Professional: Knowledge of and/or experience in human services field a plus. MUST have a valid driver’s license and consistent access to a car. Preferred skills: Experience with a donor database is preferred, but not required. Previous experience with youth service organizations and with socio-economically diverse populations. Personal Attributes: Must be a self-starter with strong organizational, communication/presentation and customer service skills; have the ability to interact with and relate well to others, and possess the ability to work independently. This position requires the candidate to have a keen eye for detail and a collaborative spirit. Must be flexible; have a positive, can-do attitude; and have a strong desire to work in an industry that focuses on helping others.

Education and Experience

Minimum – Must have a bachelor’s degree, with preferably 2+ years relatable experience preferred.

Salary/Salary Range

$45,000+ annually depending on experience.
