The Adult Day HealthCare Manager provides a safe, fun and stimulating day of activities for seniors with early onset Dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. This provides respite for their Caregivers.
Essential duties and responsibilities
The Adult Day HealthCare Manager oversees all activities associated with the day-to-day operations of the Adult Day HealthCare facility. Provides a safe environment that stimulates dementia patients with entertaining activities. Greets each senior on arrival, assesses and monitors each client on arrival and throughout their day. Updates the appropriate staff of any changes in Member’s condition and/or necessary changes to the Care Plan. Obtains vital signs and dispenses medications per doctor’s orders and ensures proper charting and documentation of medications and their results. Markets the Adult Day HealthCare program by providing invitations to prospective Members, distributing business cards and brochures at health fairs and other events.
The Adult Day HealthCare Manager must possess a working knowledge of the community care system. Therefore, the Adult Day HealthCare Manager must be knowledgeable about the array of community-based services and resources available to address the needs of clients and their caregivers with dementia. Must have knowledge of obstacles facing the aging and vulnerable population. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Education and Experience
Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse licensed to work in the state of Florida. One (1) year of staff supervisory experience in a social or health care services environment, and a minimum of one (1) year of experience in providing services to persons who have dementia. Experience working with the elderly or other vulnerable population in a customer focused environment. Must be able to pass the Level 2 background check required by DOEA.
$45,000 per year
