Northeast Florida AIDS Network (NFAN) has an opening for an HIV/AIDS Health Insurance Medical Case Manager. The qualified candidate will be responsible for health insurance policies for a shared caseload of 170 persons. Duties include but are not limited to, enrollment into health plans, preparing monthly premium payments, conflict resolution with insurance companies, data entry, monitoring medical compliance, submitting referrals for other services, assisting in applying for benefits, and helping those individuals living with HIV/AIDS meet the most basic needs of life.
Essential duties and responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities: Maintains health insurance policies for a shared caseload of 170 persons. Ensures all clients complete financial eligibility semi-annually. Meet all funding source client contact requirements. Responsible for writing and submitting billing. Update and verify client information bi-monthly. Verifies client insurance information/data monthly. Ensures the accuracy and organization of the client charts. Prepare and dispense premium payments monthly. Prepares and submits Ryan White monthly reports. Completes enrollment packages and sets up charts. Monitors client medical compliance. High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality. Coordinates medical and social services and provides clients with ongoing emotional support and counseling. Collaborates with interdisciplinary team in the evaluation of client needs and treatment plans. Facilitates referral process to appropriate social services agencies and community-based organizations for caseload and non-case-managed clients. Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks. Completes case notes and data entry.
Education and Experience
Working knowledge of the health insurance industry is helpful. HIV/AIDS knowledge is preferred but not required. Excellent written and verbal communication. Ability to work well with diverse individuals in a variety of settings. Computer skills/knowledge. Attention to accuracy and detail is a must. Must have a bachelor's degree
Salary/Salary Range
$41,000 to $44,000 based on experience
