Basic Role
The position is to implement and improve a virtual seniors initiative and to serve in a second chair leadership role at 2nd Mile’s youth leadership development programs. These wholistic programs fit in with 2nd Mile’s path of leadership and community development as part of an overall community transformation mission.

Program Description
As We Gather is a virtual socialization program for adults 55+ who meet via Zoom for education and activities. It is run by 2nd Mile Ministries, a faith-based non-profit organization in the Brentwood neighborhood in Jacksonville. 2nd Mile also operates youth development programs aimed at ages 5 to 18.

Essential duties and responsibilities

1. Collaborate with 2nd Mile staff in order to establish a seamless path towards wholistic community leadership development for both seniors and neighborhood residents. 2. Lead As We Gather within the parameters of 2nd Mile’s mission, vision, and values. 3. Weekly attend and help lead youth programs specifically with the BLOCK middle and high school aged students. 4. Recruit, lead, and empower program staff, interns, and volunteers in program specific areas. 5. Assist in the procurement of resources needed to lead the program and for the sustainability of the program. 6. Manage the program budget, grants, and expenses with an eye for detail and deadlines. 7. Foster collaborative community partnerships conducive to mission fulfillment by maintaining existing relationships and building new relationships both in the neighborhood and the field broadly. 8. Recruit families, seniors, and individuals, building strong relationships and bringing people together. 9. Seek to grow professionally and personally in the skills needed to fulfill these tasks. 10. Speak into the overall mission and vision of the organization. General 2nd Mile Duties: Align activities to 2mm vision and values. Participate in the overall mission of 2nd Mile Ministries as new initiatives arise. Stay up-to-date and responsive. Hours Full-time role. Regular responsibilities Monday - Friday. Some evening and weekend events required.

Qualifications

Skills: Above average people skills; Licensed to drive; Intermediate computer skills or higher; Willingness to learn; Cultural competency; Willingness to live in the Brentwood community; Extraordinary reliability and follow through; Ability to gather, work well with, and motivate people towards desired outcomes. Patience. Able to pass a Level 2 background check and have a legal driver's license.

Education and Experience

No set requirements. Experience working with seniors, youth, or non-profits is a plus.

Salary/Salary Range

$40,000
