The Arc Jacksonville Village is an internationally known, independent living community for individuals with intellectual and developmental differences. The Independent Living Support Coach is a unique position that supports our Village residents to live their best lives independently! Our coaches guide and promote independence and general well-being so Village residents can continue to live fulfilling lives within the greater community on a day-to-day basis. Coaches partner with residents to assist them in developing new skills, as well as, encourage them to create their own community life, opportunities, and goals.
Essential duties and responsibilities
~Provide supportive services for 15-20 residents, which will include in-home visits, community settings and groups. ~Partnering with each resident, create person centered plans based on their needs. ~Building rapport with families and natural supports, including regular verbal and written communications. ~Create timely documentation in a case management system.
Qualifications
~Self motivated and able to work without direct supervision. ~Time management and organizational skills ~Excellent verbal and written communication skills ~Be able to provide de-escalation strategies ~Collaborative thinker ~Crisis management skills. ~Team oriented
Education and Experience
~At least one year of direct service to persons with intellectual and/or developmental differences. ~Must have high school diploma or equivalent; College degree preferred. ~Must be at least 21 years of age with a valid driver's license ~While we offer a flexible schedule, must be willing to work non-traditional hours.
Salary/Salary Range
$15 per hour plus benefits
