The Xplore Program is a unique day program for adults with intellectual and developmental differences. The Xplore Program Manager will be responsible for designing, managing and participating in the Xplore Program, providing innovative and fun educational classes and community involvement opportunities, which promotes growth, inclusion, connectedness and integration into the greater community.
The Xplore Manager position is based out of The Arc Jacksonville Village, a state-of-the art, first of it’s kind, independent living community for adults with intellectual and development differences. The Program is open to all Village residents as well as the greater community.
Essential duties and responsibilities
~Oversee and manage the Xplore program to create and maintain community and educational classes. ~Supervise, train and mentor Xplore Program Specialist. ~Develop and maintain relationships with community partners for ongoing and new opportunities, as well as ensure quality communication. ~Coordinate with The Arc Jacksonville Development team to provide and create new forms of outreach for the program. ~Create and maintain effective processes for the completion of participant’s annual paperwork, participant class sign-up, orientation, and graduation for each 12-week session. ~Complete and maintain all paperwork for Medwaiver clients, including billing and quarterly reports/ implementation plans. ~Coordinate and communicate with Medwaiver supports to ensure reports are completed in a timely manner. ~Electronically document notes, interventions, communications, incidents, etc. as required and in a timely manner. ~Respond to and appropriately handle resident issues and concerns (routine and emergency) that arise during classes and support growth and development of residents through collaboration with appropriate staff and volunteers, as necessary. ~Actively participate as part of the Independent Living Support Services leadership team, which includes the Arc Jacksonville Village and the Specialized Aging Support program, working together to ensure overall success.
~Excellent leadership skills and qualities, including organizational skills, verbal and written communication, innovation, creativity, and the ability to work independently without direct supervision. ~ Must be 21 years or older. Must be able to pass background checks. Valid drivers license required and the ability to transport participants in company vans. ~Training will be provided for CPR/Basic First Aid Certification, HIPAA Certification, Zero Tolerance, Human Trafficking and Fair Housing Training, Mental Health First Aid Training.
Education and Experience
~Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in nursing, education, or a social, behavior ~Minimum two (2) years experience working with persons with intellectual and developmental differences and one (1) year in a supervisory role preferred. ~Experience can potentially be substituted for required college.
$35,000 - $39,000 annually, plus full benefits.
