The Staff Accountant maintains all inventory, distribution, vendor relationships and purchasing functions and processes for the YMCA of Florida’s First Coast to ensure optimal efficiency and organizational functionality. Fixed asset maintenance and reporting for entire Association. Campaign management which includes maintaining all ledgers for annual and capital campaign.
Essential duties and responsibilities
1. Maintains bulk inventory and distribution. 2. Conducts vendor appointments for new vendors and maintain relationships within the community. 3. Performs bids on association orders to ensure best prices/products are received. 4. Creates program order forms and deadlines and maintain relationships with branch ordering contacts. 5. Maintains fixed asset inventory in the accounting software; including recording additions, posting depreciations, and recording disposals. 6. Tracks and reports capital expenditures including reconciling construction in progress. 7. Reconciles month-end closing entries. 8. Coordinates Campaign Management for the Association: a. Enters pledges b. Receipts pledge payments (including staff payroll deductions) c. Serves as point of contract for campaign reporting d. Education and Experience
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required. 2. Four or more years of experience in an Accounting or related field. 3. Experience in a not-for-profit environment is preferred. 4. Ability to develop and use spreadsheets. 5. Knowledge of and expertise with computerized accounting systems. 6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
