Clay County Series: Prep for Success Grants Workshop

You have a compelling program and understand the impact you’re making and now you’re ready to find funding partners whose goals align with your mission work. How do you ensure that your program and organization is “grant ready”? How can you find grantmakers who are a good match? What makes a good proposal? This workshop will cover all of these essential grant questions and participants will leave better able to research, organize, and draft a successful proposal.

About the Capacity Building for Clay County Nonprofits Series:

This free series supports all organizations located in our serving Clay County. The professional development focuses on strengthening leadership teams, which begins with the CEO and the Board, but also seeks to deepen the leadership structure by increasing opportunities for peer-learning and networking between managers and key volunteers. Join Callan Brown, Senior Director of Partnerships & Programs for the Nonprofit Center for this workshop and take away practical tools and tips to create your narrative. 

Callan is responsible for leading, conceptualizing, and implementing program strategy that aligns with Nonprofit Center strategic goals. In her role she facilitates curriculum design, analyzes data and evaluations, and leads program revenue and expense strategies. She earned her Masters Degree in Public Administration at the University of North Florida with a focus in Nonprofit Management. Having worked for both small and large nonprofit organizations, Callan has experience in development, grant writing and management, and before joining the Nonprofit Center, was the Program Director for Take Stock in Children Clay County at the YMCA of Florida’s First Coast.

Callan first got involved with nonprofits while serving with AmeriCorps during her time at the Florida State University, where she earned her BA in Art History and Museum Studies. Her passion for the arts continues here in Jacksonville; Callan previously taught an arts enrichment program to youth in St. Johns County, and currently teaches dance to adults at Dance Trance Fitness.

Callan loves exploring her Springfield neighborhood with her husband, Josh, daughter, Marin and two spoiled puggle pups.
