JOB DESCRIPTION: A dynamic and growing mental health support organization, the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), serving Clay, Duval, Nassau, and Baker Counties, is seeking an experienced and mission-driven Peer Supervisor as a Full-Time Employee in a non-clinical mental health setting. The Peer Supervisor will provide direct supervision and strategic oversight of all NAMI Jacksonville peer program staff and related peer support initiatives while supporting the overall growth and effectiveness of NAMI Jacksonville’s Peer programs. This role is responsible for staff supervision, partnership cultivation, grant outcome oversight, and ensuring high-quality, recovery-oriented services throughout Northeast Florida. The Peer Supervisor reports to the Program Manager and works collaboratively with staff, volunteers, stakeholders, community providers, and individuals impacted by mental health conditions.
GENERAL INFORMATION:
Job Type: Full-time/Exempt
Compensation: $48,000 – $54,000/YEAR

Essential duties and responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES: General • Oversee development, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of peer programs • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, recovery-oriented workplace culture grounded in empowerment and wellness • As a recovery peer specialist provide direct service, support, mentorship, resources, and system navigation to individuals and families • Provide training for recovery peer specialists and other individuals whom we serve utilizing our preferred training curriculum • Oversee and deliver direct mentorship to individuals seeking recovery peer specialist certification through our mentorship programs by providing support, guidance, communication and direct assistance • Provide direct supervision, coaching, guidance, and performance management to assigned peer staff or volunteers • Promote recovery and resilience by sharing your story to promote hope, skill development, strength, stability and safety • Maintain confidentiality and HIPPA requirements • Provide direct support to the Program & Grants Manager and perform tasks assigned by the Program & Grants Manager • Attend additional professional development opportunities as recommended by the Program & Grants Manager • All other duties as assigned Program Management • Monitor program effectiveness through outcomes tracking, data analysis, participant feedback, and quality improvement initiatives • Ensure all programs align with NAMI standards, organizational goals, and evidence-based peer support practices • Develop and maintain program policies, procedures, handbooks, and operational workflows • Collaborate with leadership to identify new funding opportunities, partnerships, and program expansion initiatives • Assist with data and grant reporting, program narratives, and compliance requirements • Ensure staff compliance with organizational policies, ethical standards, grant requirements, and program expectations • Support staff professional development through mentoring, training opportunities, and regular supervision meetings • Role model recovery, self-care, professionalism, and strengths-based approach • Train and lead programs as needed • Facilitate support groups, classes, presentations and other programs as needed • Abide by and agree to the Florida Certification Board’s Code of Ethical and Professional Conduct and Disciplinary Procedures for Certified Recovery Peer Specialists Communication and Outreach • Increase program collaborations and partnerships through key stakeholders and constituencies • Build and maintain strong relationships with community agencies, stakeholders, educational institutions, and advocacy organizations • Support public presentations, workshops, and community education efforts • Attend coalition meetings, outreach events, conferences, and stakeholder gatherings to promote NAMI programs and peer services • Participate in health fair tabling events, where you will represent NAMI Jacksonville, provide information, and engage with the public to promote mental health awareness and our services • Gather information about community needs in preparation for new proposed services • Create, update, manage, and distribute outreach and publicity material • Develop and manage communications to ensure program-related materials and other communications are prepared and disseminated effectively • Contribute to the development of NAMI newsletters • Other work as appropriate to promote and strengthen NAMI Jacksonville’s work and leadership role in the mental health and wellness community Database Management • Maintain accurate documentation and records, including documentation required for any individual member meetings as well as groups and events • Review and record program evaluations and produce monthly data reports • Gather and collect data from programs • Implement record-keeping procedures to monitor data for grants and program management • Track and record outcome data through pre-tests, post-tests and evaluations as required • Maintain NAMI program database for clients, donors, grantors, and as required by NAMI’s systems

Qualifications

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: • Support a growing non-profit organization • Excellent attention to detail and ability to self-manage completion of tasks • Time management skills and ability to adapt to changing situations and manage multiple priorities • Understanding of and sensitivity to the issues faced by individuals and families impacted by mental illness • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to establish and maintain strong working relationships with culturally diverse volunteers and members, their families, and caregivers as well as a wide range of community agencies and organizations • Self-motivation to problem solve and address issues • Ability to manage large ongoing projects to produce desired outcomes • Maintain timely record keeping and report writing • Represent NAMI professionally and courteously at community venues • Computer literacy: ability to work with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Teams, Excel, PowerPoint and maintain Databases, and to organize shared files • Willingness to travel throughout Northeast Florida, requiring use of a personal vehicle • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed • Ability to walk, bend, sit, talk, hear, repetitive motion of wrist, hands and/or fingers, lifting 25 pounds, kneel, stoop, reach, push and pull

Education and Experience

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: • High School Diploma/GED with equivalent combination of education, training, and experience • 3-5 years working as a Certified Recovery Peer Specialist • 2-4 years supervising recovery peer specialist staff • Driver's License • Certified Recovery Peer Specialist Certification FL PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: • Bachelor’s Degree • Certified as a Wellness Recovery Action Plan facilitator • Certified as a Connection Recovery Support Group facilitator or a Family Support Group Facilitator • Knowledge of NAMI programs

Salary/Salary Range

$48,000.00 - 54,000.00
