Position Summary
The Director of Marketing & Membership is a full-time, salaried role responsible for leading
the Council’s marketing and communications campaigns to build brand and program
awareness. The Director will also design premiere membership experiences and events to
support membership appreciation, growth, and retention objectives.

Essential duties and responsibilities

Key Functions & Responsibilities: Brand Growth & Visibility • Collaborate with Board and Council leadership to define and implement strategies that enhance the organization’s public presence and reputation. • Identify opportunities to expand brand reach through community partnerships, digital innovation, and creative communications and campaigns. • Develop creative marketing campaigns to elevate the organization’s brand, including compelling storytelling through print, digital, and video. • Oversee and grow the organization’s social media presence by creating engaging content, campaigns, and spotlights that showcase mission impact. • Ensure marketing materials align with organizational voice, brand, and values. Marketing & Communications • Develop and lead marketing strategies and campaigns with the Board of Directors and Membership Committee. • Create and execute social media campaigns (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter). • Manage press relations, including ad buys and earned media. • Craft inspiring impact stories and creative content. • Design programs, newsletters, annual reports, and graphics for print and digital mediums (Canva or Adobe) and website. • Prepare and send member communications, including newsletters, membership renewals, appreciations, etc. • Monitor and analyze social media, marketing, and donor engagement metrics to evaluate effectiveness and inform future strategy. Donor Relations & Engagement • Design and implement a donor and membership stewardship plan that provides consistent, personalized, and timely communication with donors and members. • Develop and execute strategies for stewardship of major donors, planned giving donors, and corporate/foundation partners. • Create opportunities for donors to experience the impact of their giving (site visits, impact stories, legacy giving opportunities, etc.). • Ensure appropriate recognition for donors and members through letters, calls, reports, events, and other creative touchpoints. • Support event operations, set-up, disassembly and other tasks to support premier experience.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in marketing or communications management. (Experience in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization a plus.) • Proven success in developing and executing marketing strategies. • Experience in donor or member relations, outreach, and executing premier appreciation initiatives and events. • Proficiency in designing and executing social media campaigns. • Proficiency in digital marketing tools, CRM systems, website, and analytics platforms. (i.e. Canva, Adobe Acrobat, Membee, SalesForce, etc.) • Collaborative, creative, and results-oriented mindset. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
