Essential duties and responsibilities

The President / Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is the key leadership position within LSS. The CEO champions LSS and the people we serve and ensures that the agency has the capacity to sustainably deliver services with excellence and integrity. Key roles include but are not limited to: Strategy - Works with board of directors and leadership team to proactively develop and implement a consistent strategy addressing sustainable quality, uncertainty, risk and growth - Regularly evaluates community needs People and Culture - Builds a welcoming organizational culture with trauma-informed values and practices - Establishes and maintains effective communications throughout the organization - Encourages staff growth and development aligned with strategic priorities - Evaluates and, if needed, improves the agency’s structure and roles for a healthy and productive workplace Operational Guidance and Accountability - Works with the leadership team to regularly review and improve LSS’ programs and ensure that the programs work well together within the agency’s strategic framework - Works with the leadership team and Board of Directors to monitor agency and program risk and develop contingency plans - Works with the leadership team and Board of Directors to develop and manage to an annual budget, and oversees financial policies that protect the agency’s assets - Shares agency performance on a regular basis with all stakeholders and holds accountability for overall agency performance Maintains and Grows Community Partnerships - Tells the story of LSS and our impact widely in the community – what we offer and why we make Northeast Florida a better place - Pursues and nurtures collaborative partnerships with other community organizations to further shared strategic priorities - Participates regularly and visibly with funders and elected / appointed officials, and is personally involved with major funding requests

Qualifications

The CEO must possess a broad and flexible range of leadership and management competencies including but not limited to the following. • A holistic and disciplined perspective in planning, implementation, and improvement • The development and motivation of high performing and collaborative teams • Ability to develop and sustain positive relationships with a diverse array of community partners, stakeholders, and funders • A strong working knowledge of nonprofit finances and cash flow • Transparent and high integrity leadership • Exceptional verbal and written communications

Education and Experience

Experience • Minimum of 5 years of senior leadership and managerial experience in a nonprofit setting including working with a Board of Directors • Minimum of 5 years building and leading teams • Minimum of 5 years financial experience including budgeting, monitoring performance, cash flow analysis, risk analysis, and scenario planning in a nonprofit setting • Proven experience in fundraising preferred Education Minimum of bachelor's degree, preferred in business administration, non-profit management or a related field

Salary/Salary Range

$150,000- $175,000 annually commensurate with experience
