Job description

The Construction Site Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily construction activities while leading and supervising volunteers on Clay County Habitat for Humanity build sites. This role balances hands-on field supervision with volunteer coordination to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards.

The Site Supervisor serves as the primary on site leader, working closely with construction leadership, subcontractors, and volunteers to advance Habitat’s mission of building affordable housing.

Essential duties and responsibilities

Key Responsibilities Construction & Field Oversight Supervise daily residential construction activities Ensure work is completed according to plans, schedules, and quality expectations Coordinate schedules with subcontractors and skilled trades Identify and resolve on-site construction issues Monitor timelines, workmanship, and safety compliance Volunteer Leadership & Safety Lead, train, and supervise volunteers of varying skill levels Assign appropriate tasks and provide hands-on instruction Conduct daily safety briefings and enforce safety protocols Create a productive, respectful, and welcoming volunteer environment Coordination & Communication Serve as the primary on-site point of contact Communicate progress, challenges, and material needs to management Assist with scheduling inspections, deliveries, and subcontractor work Site & Materials Management Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite Assist with material organization, storage, and usage Ensure proper care and use of tools and equipment Qualifications Experience in residential construction or a related trade Ability to read and interpret basic construction plans Strong leadership and communication skills Comfort working with volunteers and diverse groups Knowledge of construction safety standards Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications Previous construction site supervision experience Experience working in volunteer-driven or nonprofit environments Driver License Must pass drug test

Education and Experience

Any of the following is accepted: OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification (or willingness to obtain) AssociatesCertificate Advanced Certificate Bachelors Technical DiplomaCommunity / Technical College
