Dr. Hodo is the founder and President of All Things Diverse LLC, which provides consulting services to businesses, academic institutions, non-profit organizations, and government entities who value diversity and want to develop a high performing inclusive workforce.  Some of the services her company offers include diversity, equity, and inclusion training and workshops, assessments and surveys, strategic diversity planning and diversity audits.   She worked in academia for over 18 years in a variety of positions to include faculty and administrator.  Besides running a company, she currently serves as a part-time lecturer with Glasgow Caledonian New York College where she teaches The Inclusive Workplace in the M.S. of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) leadership program.

Her company has had contracts with the City of Jacksonville addressing policing and trust with minority communities (Safer Together).  The company has also worked with the Federal government division of Veterans Administration in which they taught employees about Cultural Competency, Microaggressions and Communication Styles, surrounding the LGBTQI community.  The company is currently in their third year of a contract with the City of Tampa, training employees on Cultural Inclusiveness, Diversity and Implicit Bias and Managing Diverse Teams. Recently (2024) her company completed a contract with the City of Rochester to conduct DEI training and an Organizational Audit for their Fire Department.  Recently ATD won a contract to teach all City employees in Sanford, FL about the value of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

As a biracial woman, Dr. Hodo has experienced two different Americas: one for whites and one for blacks. As a Ph.D. social scientist who studies the impacts the variables of race, class, ethnicity, and sex have on life chances, she has incredible insight into how to start the difficult dialogue about the irrelevance of enduring racial constructs. Race is a social—not a biological—construct. There is no gene or cluster of genes common to all blacks or all whites. Nevertheless, the concept of race has been used to create statuses and stratification. Throughout history, perceptions of race have changed over time to justify who should have privilege and who should not. Like race, racial identity can also be fluid. But the social, political, and economic implications of race remain rigidly entrenched. Dr. Hodo has written course content for an educational vendor on Implicit Bias and Microaggressions and a course on Discrimination Awareness in the workplace that are used at hundreds of businesses and universities/colleges.  She is also a 2X TEDx speaker, in which she discussed the Social Implications of Race and Small Great Conversations, which focuses on racial injustice.  In January 2023 her most recent publication, a textbook, was released by Routledge House entitled How to Engage in Difficult Conversations on Identity, Race, and Politics in Higher Education: A Practical Guide for Faculty.

She is a service-connected disabled veteran of the U.S. Navy.
