The MaliVai Washington Youth Foundation is searching for an enthusiastic Communications and Marketing Coordinator. Th Communications and Marketing Coordinator will report to the Director of Development & Community Engagement. They provide support for brand management and the implementation of social media, marketing, public relations, graphic design and promotional strategy for the organization. They also assist with development administration, fundraising events and special projects at the direction of their supervisor and the CEO.
The MaliVai Washington Youth Foundation is a holistic youth development organization that has been providing after school and summer programs to youth in the urban core of Jacksonville for the last 29 years.
Essential duties and responsibilities
Marketing • Maintaining and developing MWYF’s Website • Media relations activities including writing and distributing press releases and media advisories, maintaining a digital news archive and photo logs, and assisting in developing communications strategy • Event support (including fundraising and in-program • Photography & videography (including editing and scripting videos) Brand Management & Graphic Design • Maintain a thorough understanding of MWYF’s brand guidelines • Maintain a thorough understanding of MWYF’s mission and programs to effectively market those programs to the public • Design and develop collateral materials including flyers, postcards, brochures, etc. using Canva and Adobe Creative Suite Communication & Digital Strategy • Content, design, layout and publishing of enews and newsletter • Create content for and schedule all social media posts (FaceBook, Insta, Linked In, YouTube, etc.) • Work with students to create monthly blogs Administrative Duties • Manage the Post Office account including bulk publishing • Manage the printing company account • Manage the “Sponsor A Champion” project including communication between students and donors. • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Passionate about youth and youth development • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Must be a creative-minded self starter who can multi-task well. • Must be detail oriented, well-organized and able to set priorities under pressure. • Must be professional, hard-working and have excellent time management skills. • Must have strong writing skills with excellent grammar and content creation. • Proficient in Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite is necessary. • Social media and web site content management experience. Knowledge of all major social media sites (Facebook, Insta, Linked In, YouTube, etc.) • Special Event experience is a plus. • Ability to establish and maintain both internal and external working relationships. • Ability to understand and promote MWYF’s mission. • Empathy for, understanding of and passion for interacting with predominantly low-income and at-risk youth K-12. • Must frequently talk, hear and use typical office equipment. • Although sitting frequently, employee routinely is required to walk with occasional travel by car.
Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, public relations, digital media or other related degrees preferred. • This is an entry level position with internship-two years experience preferred.
Salary/Salary Range
$42,000-$46,000 (based on hourly salary with limited Overtime needed), multiple benefits including 100% paid health insurance
