The Community Engagement Coordinator is a relationship-driven role focused on building meaningful connections and delivering exceptional communication across diverse audiences, from children to adults. This position requires strong organizational skills and meticulous record-keeping to support program success and growth.

Key responsibilities include onboarding and supporting each newly qualified Dreamer, collaborating with students and schools to expand the Kids Helping Kids program and drive annual revenue growth, serving as the primary staff liaison to the Horizon Board, and leading the organization’s volunteer program.

The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented professional with a positive attitude who thrives in a collaborative environment.

Essential duties and responsibilities

• Grow the Kids Helping Kids Program to include more schools, provide programming for the groups, increase engagement in Dreams Come True events, and leverage the program to increase brand awareness of Dreams Come True throughout our community. • Lead the Dreams Come True dream onboarding team and ensure that every child is met in person within eight weeks of referral to o Get to know the child and the family o Learn what programs and activities would be appropriate for the family o Begin to build the relationships with the dreamer o Explain the dream granting process in person and answer any questions the family has o Set expectations for the dream process • Grow the volunteer program to use volunteers more effectively throughout the organization and actively seek ways to build capacity through use of volunteers. • Utilize and manage the volunteer software to track and grow volunteer engagement. • Support the Dreams Come True Horizon Board • Collaborate with the communications team to develop and execute effective donor, family & volunteer communications, social media, and marketing materials. • Work closely with the Sr. Director of Community Relations to develop strategies and goals for growing, the Kids Helping Kids program and the volunteer program. • Work closely with the Executive Director to develop strategies for growing the Horizon Board and managing a VIP welcome experience for each child and family that qualifies for a dream. • Monitor and analyze data to evaluate performance and recommend adjustments to strategies as needed. • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Excellent people skills and a demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with people of all ages and from various background. • Extremely detail oriented and able to effectively communicate relevant details • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, Board members, planning committees and volunteers. • Experience with database software and ability to find ways to maximize usage. • Excellent strategic thinking and creative problem-solving skills. • A deep commitment to the mission and values of our organization. • Flexible and adaptable.

Salary/Salary Range

40,000-45,000
