Purpose of Position:
The Community Impact Director plays a pivotal role in advancing United Way’s mission to improve housing stability, affordability, and financial security across our region. This position leads strategic efforts in the areas of housing stability, home preservation (including home repairs), housing development, and capacity building—to strengthen communities and expand access to safe, affordable housing. Through program design, partnership cultivation, and cross-sector collaboration, the Director ensures that United Way’s housing initiatives are impactful, sustainable, and aligned with the broader goal of creating a community where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
Essential duties and responsibilities
Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions: • Assist the program design, strategic planning, and execution of United Way’s housing initiative in the areas of home preservation, housing development, and capacity building • Support the launch of housing grant processes by developing timelines, application materials, and reporting frameworks to ensure effective implementation • Lead oversight of program performance monitoring and compliance for organizations funded under United Way’s housing initiative • Provide administrative leadership in managing the financial and programmatic requirements of grants received by United Way, ensuring accurate documentation, timely reporting, and compliance with grant deadlines • Coordinate regular communication, workflow, and problem solving across multiple partner organizations • Spreadhead the execution of key activities under United Way’s housing programs • Facilitate meetings, events, and presentations for internal and external audiences • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with external partners- local government, nonprofit, for profit, grassroots and other community-based organizations • Support the strategic planning, development, and execution of marketing and communication strategies and materials that elevate United Way’s housing initiative • Analyze and evaluate data on housing programs, conduct research in housing areas of focus, and draft reports • Represent United Way on committees and working groups focused on housing issues, contributing insights and advancing collaborative solutions • Foster cross-departmental collaboration to enhance alignment, efficiency, and success for the organization’s mission • Perform other duties for the Community Impact Department as directed

Education and Experience
Experience/Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree required in a related field (Master’s degree preferred) • A minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience • Experience with and understanding of affordable housing • Exceptional ability to foster transformational relationships • Experience with grant management • Creative and visionary thought leader and problem solver • Expertise in project management • Outstanding data management, research, and reporting capabilities • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail • Extensive skills in program strategy, execution, and achieving outcomes • Capable of communicating well verbally and in writing • Proficiency in presenting and facilitating for groups • Strong in time management and execution of deadlines • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality • Capable of collaborating at all levels and across all departments within the organization • Embody United Way values and hold a commitment to the organization’s mission • Ability to pass a background check • Must pass pre-employment drug screening • Staff members who drive a vehicle on UWNEFL business must provide proof of a valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance • Keep all activities in line with the core values and contribute to the positive culture of United Way of NE Florida • Actively participate in the broader organizational activities and be a brand steward within the community, outside agencies and/or programs to enhance United Way services to the community
