Organization Overview:
Take Stock in Children Nassau (TSICN) is a non-profit organization committed to breaking the cycle of poverty through education. We provide academically qualified, low-income students with the resources and opportunities to succeed in college and beyond. Our comprehensive services include academic support, one-on-one mentoring, and college and career coaching for students across Nassau County—from middle school through post-secondary education.
Position Summary:
TSICN is seeking a dynamic, mission-driven Executive Director to lead and grow our organization. The Executive Director will be responsible for overseeing all program, operational, and financial functions. This includes driving student success, managing staff and volunteers, ensuring legal and financial compliance, and building sustainable fundraising strategies. This position reports directly to the TSICN Board Chair in partnership with Board committee chairs.
Essential duties and responsibilities
Key Responsibilities: · Provide strategic leadership and oversight of all TSICN programs · Cultivate community and donor relationships to meet fundraising goals · Ensure fiscal responsibility and administrative compliance · Serve as the primary liaison to the TSICN Board of Directors and community partners · Advocate for TSICN’s mission in schools, the community, and with stakeholders
Qualifications
Qualifications: · Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred · Proven leadership experience in education, nonprofit management, or related fields · Strong background in school systems, nonprofit operations, or student support services (e.g., teaching, school counseling, administration) · Excellent communication, organizational, and fundraising skills
