As a Junior Achievement (JA) Program Manager, you will be responsible for the implementation of JA programs as assigned by the Director of Education. The Program Manager is a professional level role which requires conceptual knowledge of theories, practices and procedures within a job discipline typically obtained from experience or specific education. Duties include recruiting, training, and program management, and monitoring all programs for adherence to implementation models and quality. You will develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including teachers, school administrators, students, and business and community volunteers.
Essential duties and responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Develop, maintain and expand programs within public, private, and charter schools and nonprofits to achieve strategic plan goals • Responsible for managing assigned high school programs—including JA Heroes—and for recruiting, coordinating, and supporting individual volunteers in designated schools and program areas. This role will be cross-trained to assist with K–5, middle school, and other high school programs as needed, working collaboratively with fellow program managers to ensure seamless program delivery. • Develop and implement plan for teacher and volunteer contacts including class visits, newsletters, phone contacts, teacher visits, meetings, teacher, and volunteer trainings. • Engage with Junior Achievement stakeholders by developing and maintaining positive relationships with teachers, volunteers, school staff and students • Assure program quality through phone calls, classroom monitoring, participant servicing, evaluation instruments and newsletters • Continually provide motivation, feedback, program materials and resources to volunteers and teachers and conduct training as needed • Develop and strengthen relationships with primarily corporate based volunteer sources that drive engagement and promote and increase volunteer participation in assigned programs; deliver recruiting presentations as needed. • Adhere to all program reporting requirements and alignment with implementation standards to ensure proper verification of all programs. • Ensure completion of general records and correspondence with educators, volunteers, and prospects. • Work cross-functionally with team members to meet volunteer needs and ensure procurement and delivery of all program and curriculum materials. • Attend and participate in JA’s special events and other meetings or events as needed • Other duties as assigned within the scope of position, based on experience and requirements

WORKING CONDITIONS/EQUIPMENT USE • Work is performed indoors in a typical office environment - not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions. • Valid driver license with proof of insurance for business related travel • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends • Must be able to lift up to fifteen (15) pounds • Frequent use of office machines to include telephone, computer, and printer • Remote work Fridays
Education and Experience
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE - REQUIRED • Must have enthusiasm for the JA mission and true commitment to helping students realize their potential • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in business, education or related field is required • Three years of experience in education is preferred. Will also consider candidates with similar length of experience with program or project management or a combination of both • Strong problem-solving skills • Driver’s License and vehicle to commute to external community meetings and schools • Public speaking experience and knowledge of the education and/or business community is preferred • Should be comfortable working closely in teams; this position will be working collaboratively as well as independently • The ideal candidate will be innovative and forward-thinking; have project management experience and/or experience with student programs • The individual will be knowledgeable about Jacksonville’s education landscape • Strong oral and written communication skills as well as computer literacy skills
