Job Summary: The Programs Manager plans, coordinates, and delivers Leadership Jacksonville’s adult and youth programs including LJ Flagship, Youth LJ and NextGen. This position works with the VP of Programs and the Events and Logistics Coordinator to design and deliver programs to educate, connect and inspire diverse leaders to build and strengthen their communities.
Essential duties and responsibilities
Program Design and Execution • Plan, deliver, and manage Flagship LJ, Youth LJ, and NextGen programs to further LJ’s organization’s mission, vision and values. • With the support of VP of Programs and LJ Team, identify and confirm alumni to engage in planning and execution of program days. • Schedule necessary meetings, manage agendas, distribute minutes, and handle other correspondence with program day planning committees. • Identify and secure content experts and/or activities to advance learning agenda for program participants. • Support the admissions process, as needed. Program Evaluation • Ensure completion of any pre and post program assessments and/or pre-work required of participants. • Regularly assess/evaluate program effectiveness based on program metrics. Use data and feedback to make informed decisions and make adjustments to improve the program outcomes. Volunteer and Participant Relationship Development and Management • Lead communication efforts with each class; foster interaction and engagement among participants during and between classes, including managing the class page, tracking attendance, and monitoring class group chat. • In partnership with VP of Programs, ensure donor stewardship deliverables are executed during program day, in alignment with the organizational fundraising strategy and plan. • Contribute to strategic projects, setting clear goals, deadlines, and deliverables, and other duties as assigned by supervisor. • Promote LJ’s mission and programs through community engagement and outreach as encouraged by supervisor.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications (Required, unless otherwise stated): ● 5+ years’ experience in youth and/or adult learning and development ● Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent relevant experience ● Experience and knowledge in principles of youth and adult learning, through formal training or job-based experience ● Experience facilitating discussion in a variety of circumstances ● Ability to manage program development, delivery, documentation, and evaluation focused on both adult and youth learning audiences ● Ability to innovate and pilot new learning models ● Demonstrated ability to engage a diverse range of stakeholders and partners ● Action-oriented, adaptable, and innovative approach to planning ● Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people ● Strong written and verbal communication skills ● Ability to work in a team environment both with staff and volunteers ● Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word), social media, interactive technology, and digital communication ● Experience with MBTI, DiSC, and/or 360-degree leadership assessment, preferred ● Strong commitment to the Leadership Jacksonville mission Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to type, touch, handle or feel; bend and stoop, and reach with hands and arms. This position must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds of various items. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional early morning, evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Travel: Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
