Beaches Emergency Assistance Ministry (BEAM) is a nonprofit agency committed to supporting residents and workers of the Jacksonville Beaches community by providing essential services including food, housing assistance, financial support, and other basic needs. We are a trusted resource for individuals and families in crisis, empowering them with the tools and support necessary for stability and hope.
In partnership with Thrift Store Manager, the Thrift Store Associate is responsible for assisting in managing inventory levels, engaging store customers and volunteers, implementing sales strategies as directed, and assuring that operations are consistent with BEAM policies.
Essential duties and responsibilities
• In partnership with Store Manager, assure inventory will provide appropriate sales to meet store sales targets. Monitor store inventories and seasonal needs. • In partnership with Volunteer Director, train, support and retain volunteer store clerks. • Create a welcoming and engaging customer experience. • Assure cash is secure and appropriately accounted for. Run register receipts, complete sales summary and verify cash for deposit. • Support the processing of donated items, manage the rotation of items and the disposal of donated items in a timely manner. Place, display and/or presents items in an attractive manner. • Provide support to all thrift sites and other BEAM functions as requested. • Must be able to meet production goals in a timely fashion while maintaining a set standard of practice.

Education and Experience
• Commitment to BEAM’s mission to provide emergency assistance and a path to economic stability • High School diploma • Retail experience highly desirable • Ability to direct and motivate others • Ability to manage sales data accurately • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite. • Ability to build positive relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders • Excellent verbal communication skills • Self-motivated and trustworthy • Ability to organize and prioritize work, and to work independently with little supervision • Be prepared to handle daily unforeseen tasks and challenges
Salary/Salary Range
$16 – 17/hour, depending on experience
