The Chief Executive officer is responsible for advancing the Garden Club’s mission and impact in northeast Florida, including:
· Achievement of the strategic plan and budget in collaboration with the Board of Trustees
· Fund development
· Management of the club’s employees,
· Operational oversight of the club’s activities and historic campus.
The Chief Executive Officer position demands the skills and fortitude to engage with people, the environment, and other organizations in ways that strengthen the Garden Club of Jacksonville and the community we serve.
This is a full-time salaried position reporting directly to the President of the Board of Trustees.
Essential duties and responsibilities
Essential Duties - Development · Working with the Board to develop and implement a fund development plan to expand and diversify the club’s revenue sources · Managing the development process including identification, cultivation, active engagement and stewardship of donors · Maintaining, tracking and analyzing donor and membership data for development purposes · Complying with the Garden Club’s gift acceptance and acknowledgment policies Essential Duties - Operations · Implementing steps to achieve Strategic Plan goals · Collaborating with the Treasurer and Finance Committee to develop and manage the annual budget, payroll process, annual audit and other financial functions · Managing staff including recruitment, on-boarding, delegation of responsibilities, performance evaluations, and professional development · Overseeing the implementation and evaluation of programmatic activities and events · Continuously improving operational performance to advance the Garden Club’s mission, relationships with stakeholders, and financial results · Operational oversight of the Garden Club's historic campus · Adherence to federal/state laws and policies of the Garden Club of Jacksonville.
Qualifications
· Ability to prioritize and simultaneously execute multiple tasks on similar timetables in a demanding environment · Fundraising and/or business development experience including proficiency with donor management databases · Ability to develop, lead and motivate a diverse, professional staff · Basic knowledge of finance and accounting · Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective engagement with donors, members, volunteers, community partners, lessors of the Garden Club’s venue, vendors, and other stakeholders · Interest in engaging the public in gardening, horticulture and the environment
Education and Experience
Successful track record in operations management and organizational development
Salary/Salary Range
$90,000-$100,000 Plus Bonus
