Description
The Grant Compliance Team Lead is responsible for all aspects of grant compliance. This position provides oversight to the Compliance Team for processing payment requests, process development and improvement. This position also includes assistance with training and staffing for the Compliance team.
Essential duties and responsibilities
• Oversee timely and accurate processing of all TFA requests • Perform second reviews of TFAs • Handle escalation issues for Compliance Specialists • Grant tracking to ensure spending compliance • Metrics tracking and oversight • Maintain grant files to ensure the most up to date information on grant requirements • Work in collaboration with other team leads to ensure timely processing of TFA requests and billing • Monitor processes and make recommendations for process improvement • Act as a backup to Grant Compliance Specialists • Team Oversight: o Manage a team of direct reports including hiring and ongoing training o Monitor workloads and productivity o Assign tasks, set deadlines, and ensure target deliverables are met • Performance Management: o Conduct monthly One-on-One meetings and track individual progress o Conduct 45-day, 90-day, and annual performance evaluations o Provide ongoing feedback and coaching that is supportive, corrective, and recognizes effort and achievement o Work with Human Resources to develop Performance Improvement Plans (PIP) when necessary o Identify opportunities for professional development • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
• Strong leadership skills • Accounting and/or auditing background helpful • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Detail oriented and responsive to deadlines • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Microsoft Office • Ability to work with minimal supervision and meet deadlines • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills • Capability to learn and master HMIS (Homeless Management Information System) software
Education and Experience
• Educational background can be diverse; however, a degree in a related field or a minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience preferred • Experience working or volunteering in nonprofit or government settings addressing housing or other social services preferred • Lived experience with homelessness preferred • Veterans and/or experience working with Veterans preferred • Must be eligible to work within the U.S. and provide supporting documentation • Must pass a Level II background check • Must pass a federal-level drug screen; possession of a medical marijuana card is currently not acceptable under federal law • Must have a clean 3-year driving history • Must provide proof of auto insurance, have a valid driver’s license, and a registered vehicle without known issues or faults to complete essential job functions
Salary/Salary Range
$55,000 - $62,000
