Five Star Veterans Center honors the sacrifices of combat veterans by providing the services and support they need to succeed In civilian life. We offer an intensive 6-to-12-month program to help each veteran create and act upon personalized plans for goal achievement. We provide the stability of on-site housing and 24 hour/day mental health services. The veteran is immersed in different modalities of therapy and outreach events to return them to long term independent living.
This nonprofit organization is seeking a CEO who can build on the accomplishments of his or her predecessor. The right candidate will be a strategic thinker, able to represent Five Star Veterans throughout the community to a variety of audiences, provide strong and steady leadership within the organization, and ensure its ongoing financial viability.
Essential duties and responsibilities
Core elements of CEO responsibilities include: • Maintaining a healthy, value-based work environment and culture • Operational management of all departments • Business development • Employee leadership and support • Building positive external relationships • Regulatory compliance • Ensuring financial sustainability • Demonstrating outcomes
Qualifications
Experience with public speaking, budgeting/ financial oversight, strategic planning, and fundraising is essential. Familiarity with the greater Jacksonville area is a plus. As a relatively small nonprofit, Five Star Veterans’ next CEO must be able to “lead by doing,” including establishing trust-based relationships with the veterans served.
Education and Experience
Applicants must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and a history of military service as a Lieutenant Colonel or above.
Salary/Salary Range
$100,000/year
