Position Overview

Clay County Habitat for Humanity is seeking a Construction Project Coordinator to support the planning, budgeting, and administrative coordination of residential construction projects. This role is primarily office-based and is responsible for managing construction documentation, contractor coordination, permitting processes, and project budget tracking.

This position works closely with the Executive Director and construction leadership to ensure projects remain organized, compliant, and on schedule.

Essential duties and responsibilities

Project Budget & Financial Tracking Track construction budgets by project Maintain detailed cost tracking spreadsheets Review contractor invoices for accuracy Prepare and process draw documentation Track change orders and budget adjustments Contractor & Vendor Coordination Assist in bid solicitation and bid comparison tracking Maintain subcontractor agreements and documentation Coordinate communication with subcontractors and vendors Track material orders and delivery schedules Permitting & Compliance Prepare and submit permit applications Coordinate inspections and maintain inspection records Maintain compliance documentation required by lenders or funding sources Organize project files for audit and reporting purposes Project Administration Maintain project schedules and milestone tracking Organize digital and physical construction files Support reporting needs for internal and external stakeholders Assist with construction-related data tracking and reporting

Qualifications

Qualifications 2–5 years of construction administration or project coordination experience Familiarity with residential construction processes Ability to read construction plans and scopes of work preferred Strong organizational and documentation skills Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and project tracking systems Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Core Competencies Budget discipline Strong documentation practices Clear communication with contractors and vendors Ability to identify discrepancies before they become cost overruns Self-directed and organized

Education and Experience

Preferred: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Building Construction, Business Administration, or related field Acceptable Alternative: Equivalent combination of education and 2–5 years of relevant construction administration or project coordination experience

Salary/Salary Range

$48,000 to $57,000
