The Finance Director is responsible for overall budget management of the Delores Barr Weaver Policy Center, annual financial audit preparation and participation, oversight of all finance operations and monitoring of all government, private and foundation grant contract financial deliverables and reporting, to include creating budgets for applications.

Essential duties and responsibilities

Directs and oversees day-to-day financial operations of DBWPC, Inc. Establishes, monitors, and ensures adherence to all fiscal policies and procedures in compliance with agency contracts and all federal and state regulations, and that reflect organizational values and culture Ensures adequate internal controls for financial operations and provides oversight of the staff accountant to ensure integrated fiscal systems and procedures Conducts quarterly audits of financial recordkeeping for proper approval, coding and processing and approves all journal entries Oversees monthly bank, investment and credit card reconciliations Provides COO with ongoing financial analysis of agency financial performance and makes recommendations with regard to strategic plan priorities, providing fiscal reports as requested Prepare and analyze financial reports for the Board of Directors (through COO) as requested Collaborates with the COO and CEO/President through the annual budgeting process, on managing the budget and reviews financials to ensure fidelity of resources Provides internal communications related to fiscal policy and procedures. Works closely with leadership and managers to manage agency budgets and ongoing spending patterns and cycles relative to contract terms and grant periods Ensures audit readiness for all government contracts, private and foundation, workers compensation and annual financial audits Supports grant application and reporting processes through budget creation, monitoring and reporting Work closely with the Operations Manager to ensure fiscal adherence to government contract requirements Reviews and approves final payroll submittal Secondary Functions Back up operations for Staff Accountant essential functions Supports organizational fundraising efforts, including but not limited to events and donor cultivation Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions listed above.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Required Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business management, nonprofit administration or related field 5 years’ related work experience in nonprofit Demonstrated experience in grants management Individuals with an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered for the position. Preferred Education and Experience Master’s Degree CPA

Salary/Salary Range

$80,000-$90,000
