Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a passionate individual to join our dedicated team in Jacksonville, Florida. As a Supportive Services for Veteran Families HMIS Enrollment Specialist, you will play a crucial role in advancing our mission of ending homelessness. You will collaborate with community stakeholders, leverage resources, and implement innovative strategies to prevent homelessness and support those in need.

Position Summary:
The Accountant is responsible for performing a full range of traditional accounting duties as well as grant accounting tasks. This position will be responsible for recordkeeping and accounting related to various federal, state, and private grant funds.
The Accountant is also responsible for preparing various assets, liability, revenue and expense reconciliations, posting transactions to the general ledger, account analysis, and completing other tasks assigned to support the day-to-day operations of the Office of Business and Finance.
Essential duties and responsibilities
Enter daily cash Create AR invoices for grantors and donors Monitor and reconcile Accounts Receivable Assist with Payroll Review grant and contract expenditures to ensure that they are allowable, allocable, and reasonable Accounts Payable entry and reconciliations Abandoned Property tracking and reporting Assist in the preparation of regular and special financial and statistical statements and reports, including those required during the annual audit Prepare schedules as assigned for the annual financial audit Prepare monthly journal entries Assist in month end close process and financial reporting Updating documentation of procedures related to reconciliation processes as assigned Enforce internal controls and procedures to promote more effective and efficient operations Fixed asset tracking Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word) Strong work ethic Flexibility and ability to multi-talk as needed Must be detail oriented and possess analytical ability Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and projects, mobilize efforts toward completion, and deliver with a high degree of quality on a consistent basis Demonstrate the ability to think critically and evaluate procedures and make recommendations that are appropriate for improving productivity Ability to work collaboratively with staff Periods of walking, standing, or sitting in an office or field environment for service provision Limited physical effort required; however, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds Ability to operate a motor vehicle
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field preferred Minimum 2 years of experience, preferably with a non-profit Experience with federal and state grant administration Must be eligible to work within the U.S. and provide supporting documentation Must pass a Level II background check Must pass a federal-level drug screen; possession of a medical marijuana card is currently not acceptable under federal law Must have a clean 3-year driving history Must provide proof of auto insurance, have a valid driver’s license, and a registered vehicle without known issues or faults to complete essential job functions
Salary/Salary Range
$50,000 - $60,000
