MEDIA ADVISORY: Nonprofit Center to release new poll, video, and campaign on October 20

JACKSONVILLE, FL – The Nonprofit Center of Northeast Florida invites members of the news media to its 20th Anniversary Breakfast Celebration, where it will release results of a new poll of public attitudes about the nonprofit sector and announce new initiatives to lift up and advocate for local nonprofits.

When:                    Thursday, October 20, 8:30-10 a.m.

Where:                  Jessie Ball duPont Center, 40 East Adams Street

Details:                  Breakfast starts at 8:30 a.m., followed by the presentation at 9 a.m.

The survey, conducted by University of North Florida’s Public Opinion Research Lab, provides the first look in 10 years at perceptions about the local nonprofit sector , including the level of public trust in nonprofits and other local institutions, and key data points about how Northeast Florida residents interact with and support nonprofits.  The Nonprofit Center conducted a similar poll a decade ago and is repeating it as part of the three initiatives for the Believe in the Good campaign. As part of the campaign, the Nonprofit Center will also debut a new video and advocacy initiative to lift up the local sector’s role in building community and driving economic wellbeing, particularly in light of the sector’s critical work in the pandemic.

Approximately 150 people are expected at the event. Opportunities for B-roll will be available before and after the presentation, with one-on-one interviews available starting at 10 a.m. The video, with a runtime of 90 seconds, will be available for download immediately following the event at 10 a.m.

The final component of the project will be a campaign to re-energize community advocacy. The Nonprofit Center will conduct a multi-county engagement road show with nonprofits centered around advocacy.

Please join us on Thursday, October 20, at 8:30 AM for the Breakfast Celebration. Learn more and register to attend the 20th Anniversary Breakfast Celebration here.

This work would not be possible without the sponsors of the Nonprofit Center’s 20th Anniversary Celebrate the Sector Project: The Community Foundation for Northeast Florida, Jaguars Foundation, The Jessie Ball DuPont Fund, Wells Fargo, Community First Credit Union, Emily Balz Smith Foundation and Baptist Health.
