The Nutrition Services Manager is responsible for the management and oversight of the operations of Barnabas Nutrition Services including training and supervision of employees and volunteers assigned to all nutrition program activities.

Essential duties and responsibilities

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 1. Manage all Pantry operations to maximize client nutritional experience. Collaborate with members of the Leadership Team such as Communications, Facilities, Community Outreach, and Health Services. 2. Develop and coordinate case management services, resources, and personnel necessary to operate effective and efficient food collection and pickups, storage, disposal of waste and deliveries (including USDA). 3. Develop and monitor formal and informal agreements, which include order placement and other nutritional components with vendors that are compliant with the USDA MyPlate guidelines. 4. Foster innovative partnerships with organizations such as Feeding Northeast Florida and University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences to promote wellness for our clients. 5. Develop program goals, objectives, and strategies in consultation with the Program Director. 6. Evaluate food inventory and activities to achieve program goals and minimize food waste. 7. Maintain accurate data tracking of nutritional services and program statistics. Prepare required monthly, quarterly, and annual reports. Prepares for and participates in annual nutritional program audit. 8. Manage budgeted program expenditures within agency and funders guidelines; provide input in budget development. 9. In coordination with the Program Director, create policy guidelines for assistance, Standard Operating Procedures, training programs, community education, and staffing plans. 10. Organize food drives, including volunteers, and resources needed to ensure successful food drives. 11. Ensure the pantry and outside area are cleaned, well maintained, and exceeds all health, safety, and sanitation standards. Meet all guidance and regulations established by the FDA. 12. Organize and implement a meal preparation/cooking program and a client-choice model that emphasizes healthy nutritional options through educational exercises. 13. Effectively train and integrate volunteers into the nutritional services program to promote the goals of education, nutrition, and hunger elimination. 14. Remain current on best practices that link nutrition and long-term health outcomes. 15. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 2.Proficient in computer usage and Microsoft Office software. 3. Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a diverse group of people in a team-oriented environment.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in health sciences, social work, dietetics, nutrition counseling, public health or related field preferred with two years of nutritional services experience.
