The Florida Chamber Music Project (“FCMP”) is seeking a part-time contract Development Director.

About the Florida Chamber Music Project:
The Florida Chamber Music Project was founded in 2013 by violist Susan Pardue, who is a member of the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra. Other musicians in the ensemble are also members of the JSO. FCMP’s mission is: Fostering joy, connection, and education in our community through live classical chamber music. The group performs six Sunday afternoon concerts annually at the Beaches Museum Chapel in Jacksonville Beach, as well as preview concerts in area retirement homes and educational concerts at North Florida School of Special Education, and two elementary schools in Clay County.

The Contractor may provide services similar to the Assignment to other organizations, provided that the engagement of the Contractor and the services to be provided would not constitute a violation of the Conflict-of-Interest Policy adopted by FCMP as in effect from time to time without the express consent of the Board of Directors of FCMP.

Essential duties and responsibilities

Purpose of Work: To support the mission of the Florida Chamber Music Project, a development professional will be engaged to advise, consult and conduct fundraising activities including prospect research and identification, cultivation and solicitation of donors, end-of-year and close-of-season campaigns through mail and social media, and encouraging new corporate gifts. Position responsibilities include: 1. Develop an annual fundraising plan, to be presented to the FCMP Board President and Executive Director. 2. Individual Prospect Identification and Cultivation – Ongoing. Working with board, executive director, and musicians, identify and develop opportunities to meet with top level prospects to cultivate both new and increased gifts; facilitate board members and volunteers on cultivation activities. 3. Regularly communicate with lapsed donors to renew their gifts. 4. Develop Direct Mail and Social Media Fundraising Campaigns. a. Fall, Winter, Spring. b. Coordinate with marketing activities. c. Coordinate social media campaigns with Executive Director. 5. Cultivate Corporate Sponsors for Events – Ongoing. Identify potential corporate partners for grants and sponsorships and submit written materials as needed; facilitate board members and volunteers on cultivation activities. 6. Ongoing List Management – as part of maintaining best practices, maintain the donor database, updating donor records as necessary. Provide updated donor listing for concert programs. 7. Attendance at regular and “preview” concerts of FCMP, as well as at various educational concerts. 8. Attendance at and participation in FCMP board meetings.

Qualifications

A minimum of five years’ experience and a proven track record in fundraising.

Salary/Salary Range

$17,000 to $19,000 annually, based on an average of 10 hours per week.
