COVID-19 isn’t letting up, and neither are nonprofits

Canceled or virtual fundraisers. Emergency plans activated. Concerns about school closings and mask policies. For nonprofits in our community, 2021 is feeling a lot like 2020 as Northeast Florida grapples with a  surge in COVID-19 cases.  While case reports are trending downward, our health care system continues to be significantly impacted. Nonprofit organizations report either canceling or drastically modifying fall fundraisers amid continued efforts to serve the community while keeping staff and clients safe.

As we navigate this wave of COVID-19 in the community, we want to make sure to share some resources made available through the Nonprofit Center as we all work toward advocating for a safe and healthy community.

– Resources and sample policies.

Continuously updated resources on the COVID-19 and repositioning response page, including sample vaccination policy and an action plan (both of these have been legally vetted and shared by our friends at the Jessie Ball duPont Fund) the latest guidance from the experts, and recorded programs and trainings. And don’t forget that membership in the Nonprofit Center includes the highly-used job board and board bank and various other resources. To view our COVID-19 resources visit here.

– Accessibility to the Nonprofit Center.

Nonprofit Center staff are always available during our regular office hours of Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, via phone, email, and virtual meetings. Please reach out to us if we can be of assistance. We are happy to help! Our office remains closed to visitors except by appointment.

– What we’re doing.

We continue to host all of our public programming virtually. To view our upcoming events visit here. We miss seeing everyone’s shining faces, but we know continuing virtually is the safest option. We will reunite soon, but for now we will see you on Zoom. In addition, the Nonprofit Center staff continues to wear masks when interacting with each other and maintains all other guidelines suggested by the CDC. Our staff has been 100% vaccinated to protect the health of each other and those we serve. We urge the community to get vaccinated as well. Visit here to locate a vaccine center. We can make it through this as a team.

The nonprofit sector has been doing such great work during the increased demand for services due to the pandemic. We love seeing how your organizations impact the community you serve, please tag us on social media so we can stay connected and share your missions with our followers. Our mission is to connect, strengthen and advocate for a strong nonprofit community and we can’t do that without all of you!
